A Synthetic Mountain
Just like a mirage, by pixelating and digitizing the curves and thickness of paint on the surface of a canvas, an illusion of the desert is birthed. "A Synthetic Mountain" is a digital exploration of inaccessible land in its form and space. The process started out with 3D scanning my painting, and further digitalizing it so that it appears as a desert. Simply by shifting the perspective of the thick paint in a digital program, the camera sees something that the naked human eye does not see.
