Project Description:
This is the extension of the Raqqa ware 2.0 archive of 3D models that capture the life and death of 13th century Syrian Raqqa ware ceramics. These new Raqqa ware identities reveal the deeper layers of the character, soul, and history of the ware. Each artifact is a vessel that houses the enlightened moments that occurred at the peak of the Islamic golden age in Raqqa, from astronomy, philosophy, to botany and more. This Research & Creation project was generously funded by the Canadian Council for the Arts.
